About The Men's Ministry
The Men’s Ministry at Downs Memorial United Methodist Church is a brotherhood of faithful, purpose-driven men who are committed to growing in Christ, supporting one another, and making a lasting difference in our families, church, and community. Whether you’re a husband, father, mentor, or leader, this is a place where you can strengthen your walk with God and connect with other men who are striving to do the same.

Our Services
The Downs United Men’s Ministry provides opportunities for men to grow spiritually, serve faithfully, and connect in authentic brotherhood. Through Bible studies, prayer gatherings, community outreach, mentorship, and fellowship events, we aim to support men in becoming strong, compassionate leaders in their homes, church, and community.

1. Brother to Brother
Tuesdays | 6:45 PM – 8:00 PM
Online Bible Study – Chapter by Chapter
Brother to Brother is a weekly Bible study group designed for men who want to grow deeper in their understanding of God’s Word and strengthen their walk with Christ. Together, we explore the Bible one chapter at a time, encouraging open discussion, spiritual insight, and real-life application. It’s a space for fellowship, truth, and accountability—brothers building up brothers in faith.
2. Downs United Men
Saturdays | 9:00 AM – 10:00 AM
Strategic Support, Service, and Spiritual Leadership
This weekly gathering brings together men of the church to discuss how they can actively support the growth of Downs Memorial, uplift other men in faith, and spread the message of God’s love. Whether through leadership, mentorship, or service, the Downs United Men are committed to being strong pillars of support—within the church and throughout the community.
3. Men's Mental Health & Wholeness Circle
Every Last Sunday | 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM
Downs Nursery Hall + Online Option
Mental, emotional, and spiritual health are deeply connected—and this monthly support circle provides a safe, confidential space for men to explore it all. Led by Dr. Martin Gerrad, a licensed psychologist, each session offers teaching, tools, and guided discussions around topics such as stress, identity, emotional resilience, and spiritual well-being. Whether you join in person or online, this is a space to be real, be supported, and be renewed.

Every month, our men’s ministry carries out hands-on service—from helping families in need to repairing homes and supporting local shelters. You can help us do more by sponsoring a project financially or donating materials. Your support equips us to serve more people with excellence and care, all in the name of Jesus.

One Hour Can Change a Life
Do you have life experience, wisdom, or simply a heart to listen? You can mentor a younger man in our church or community. Many young adults are looking for guidance in faith, relationships, and life direction. Through mentorship, you can plant seeds that bear lifelong fruit—and build a powerful legacy of faith.

Your Talent Can Be Ministry
Are you a builder, teacher, speaker, artist, or cook? Whatever your gift, there’s a place for it in the United Methodist Men’s Ministry. Volunteer your time or skills for a workshop, men’s breakfast, or outreach event. By sharing what you’re good at, you help build men who are grounded in faith and equipped for life.
4. Share Your Skills
Fuel the Mission with Prayer
The work we do is spiritual—and it’s powered by prayer. We invite prayer warriors, intercessors, and believers of all ages to cover the Men’s Ministry in prayer. Join our prayer gatherings or commit to praying weekly for our leaders, members, and outreach efforts. Your prayers create an atmosphere where transformation happens.
